2  | 江忠源，字岷樵，湖南新宁人。道光十七年举人。究心经世之学，伉爽尚义。公车入京，初谒曾国藩，国藩曰：「吾生平未见如此人，当立名天下，然终以节烈死。」大挑教职，回籍。察教匪乱将作，阴以兵法部勒乡里子弟。既而黄背峒盗雷再浩果勾结广西莠民为乱，一战破其巢，擒再浩戮之。以功擢知县，拣发浙江。秀水灾，奉檄往赈，遂权县事。赈务毕举，擒剧盗十数，邑大治。巡抚吴文熔待以国士，补丽水，檄治海塘。文宗即位，曾国藩应诏荐其才，送部引见，寻以父忧去官。 |
