33  | 先是坎巨提之役，彼此争惎其间，我是以有退兵撤卡之举，英乘隙而使阿富汗据苏满。至是，俄西队出与阿战，东队且駸駸逼边境。总署复具筹办西南边外本末以上。钧附言：「自译中俄界图，知乌仔别里以南，东西横亘，皆是帕地。喀约所谓中国界线，应介乎其间。今日俄人争帕，早种因喀城定约之年。刘锦棠添设苏卡，意在拓边。无如喀约具在，成事难说。唯依界图南北经度斜线，自乌仔别里径南，尚可得帕地少半，寻按故址，已稍廓张。俄阿交閧，揣阿必溃。俟俄退兵，可与议界，当更与疆臣合力经营，争得一分即获一分之益。」上皆嘉纳。十九年，卒，予优恤。 |
