《卷三》
72  | 硇砂出库车。徐星伯云其山无名，在唐呼为大鹊山。其山极热，夜望之如列灯，取砂者春夏不敢近。虽极冷时，人去衣著一皮包，露两目，入洞凿之。然不过一两时即出，而皮包已焦，不能逾三时也。其砂著石上红色星星，取出者皆石块，每石十数斤，不过有砂一二厘许。携此者，用瓦罐盛石，密封其口。坛不可满，盖火气持重，满则热甚，砂走也。然受风亦走，受潮湿亦走。贾人携此，每行十数日，遇天气晴明无风时，揭其封以出火气。星伯过库车时，曾携数石密封之，及抵伊犁，则石皆化成黄粉，而砂已不见矣。故携此甚难，即其地亦不易得。 |

| 74 | 镪水以真硇砂合五倍子水而成，可烂铜铁。星伯同年寓伊犁时，适有一旧铁香炉，戏取蜡油画一龙，题数字于上。置水中一宿，炉上铁销熔一二分，而煆油所画则凸起不动，龙与字高出，而其地光平如镜。携至京，观者以为刀法之平，非秦、汉以后人所能，断其为秦、汉器。可知鉴古者大率易欺也。 |
