13 苟可以寓其巧智，使机应于心，不挫于气，则神完而守固，虽外物至，不胶于心。尧舜禹汤治天下，养叔治射，史记：养由基善射，去柳叶百步射之，百发百中。庖丁治牛，《庄子》养生篇：庖丁为文惠君解牛，文惠君曰：言喜，善哉，技盖至于此乎。师旷治音声，旷字子野，晋平公时人。扁鹊治病，扁鹊即秦越人，晋昭公时人。僚之于丸，《庄子》：市南宜僚弄丸，而两家之难解。秋之于弈，《孟子》：弈秋，通国之善弈者也。伯伦之于酒，刘伶字伯伦，晋人。乐之终身不厌，奚暇外慕？夫外慕徙业者，徙或作从，非是。皆不造其堂，不哜其阏咭病＃ㄟ庖艏痢ｙ悖侧吏切。）往时张旭善草书，旭，苏州吴郡人。时或作者，善或作喜，非是。不治他伎。喜怒窘穷，忧悲愉佚，怨恨思慕，酣醉无聊不平，有动于心，必于草书焉发之。喜怒，《文苑》作：「喜焉草书，怒焉草书。」不平，监本作「平生」，皆非是。或无焉字。观于物，见山水崖谷，鸟兽虫鱼，草木之花实；日月列星，风雨水火，雷霆霹雳，歌舞战斗，天地事物之变；可喜可愕，一寓于书。故旭之书，变动犹鬼神，不可端倪。或无犹字，非是。以此终其身，而名后世。
