57  | 洪武四年二月癸巳，淮安、宁国、扬州、台州府并泽州各献瑞麦共二十本，群臣皆贺。太祖曰：「朕为民主，惟思修德致和，以契天地之心，使三光平，寒暑时，五谷熟，人民育，为国家之瑞。盖国家之瑞，不以物为瑞也。昔尧舜之世，不见祥瑞，曾何损于圣德？汉武帝获一角兽，产九茎芝，当时皆以为瑞，乃不能谦抑自损，抚辑民庶，以安区宇，好功生事，卒使国内空虚，民力困竭，后虽追悔，已无及矣。其后神爵、甘露之侈，致山崩地震，而汉德于是乎衰。由是观之，嘉祥无征而灾异有验，可不戒哉！」 |
