1  | 明王世贞撰。所载皆明代典故。凡《盛事述》五卷，《异典述》十卷，《奇事述》四卷，《史乘考误》十一卷。表三十四卷，分目六十有七。考三十六卷，分目十有六。 |

| 1 | 明王世贞撰。记世宗、穆宗、神宗三朝阁臣事迹。盖明自嘉靖以后，阁臣之权始重，而首辅责任尤专，虽相沿祖制，不敢立丞相之名，而其位与丞相等；故世贞此书，断自嘉靖，明积渐之所由来也。 |

| 1 | 明王世贞撰。皆叙明代朝廷制度、搢绅仪注之沿革，虽多细故，而一代风气之升降，可略见焉。 |
《卷十八》
| 1 | 明王世贞撰。四部者，赋部、诗部、文部、说部也。《续稿》则惟赋、诗、文三部，而说部阙焉。世贝初羽翼李攀龙，后岿然独存，为时耆宿，其声价遂出攀龙上。而摹拟剽袭，流弊万端，其受攻亦甚于攀龙。要其才学富赡，规模广阔，实足笼罩群材。尊世贞而薄古人，固为不可；必欲并废世贞，亦非通论也。 |
