四年正月甲子，增七庙，立高祖、太宗、高宗庙于神都。庚午，毁乾元殿，作明堂。三月壬戌，杀麟台少监周思茂。四月戊戌，杀太子通事舍人郝象贤。五月庚申，得「宝图」于洛水。乙亥，加尊号为圣母神皇。六月丁亥朔，日有食之。得瑞石于汜水。七月丁巳，大赦，改「宝图」为「天授圣图」，洛水为永昌洛水，封其神为显圣侯，加特进，禁渔钓。改嵩山为神岳，封其神为天中王、太师、使持节、大都督。赐酺五日。戊午，京师地震。八月戊戌，神都地震。丙午，博州刺史琅邪郡王冲举兵以讨乱，遣左金吾卫大将军丘神绩拒之。戊申，冲死之。庚戌，越王贞举兵于豫州以讨乱。辛亥，曲赦博州。九月丙辰，左豹韬卫大将军麴崇裕为中军大总管，岑长倩为后军大总管，以拒越王贞；张光辅为诸军节度。削越王贞及琅邪郡王冲属籍，改其姓为虺氏。贞死之。丙寅，赦豫州。杀韩王元嘉、鲁王灵夔、范阳郡王霭、黄国公诜、东莞郡公融及常乐公主，皆改其姓为虺氏。丁卯，左肃政台御史大夫骞味道、夏官侍郎王本立同凤阁鸾台平章事。十月辛亥，大风拔木。十一月辛酉，杀济州刺史薛顗及其弟驸马都尉绍。十二月乙酉，杀霍王元轨、江都郡王绪及殿中监裴承光。大杀唐宗室，流其幼者于岭南。己亥，杀骞味道。己酉，拜洛受图。辛亥，改明堂为万象神宫，大赦。

会赦还，为著作郎。武后讽帝召诸儒论撰禁中，万顷与周王府户曹参军范履冰、苗神客、太子舍人周思茂、右史胡楚宾与选，凡撰《列女传》、《臣轨》、《百僚新戒》、《乐书》等九千馀篇。至朝廷疑议表疏皆密使参处，以分宰相权，故时谓「北门学士」。思茂、履冰、神客供奉左右，或二十馀年。
