| 3 | 初，王之在福州也，知芝龙不可恃，而楚抚何腾蛟、江右杨廷麟咸有疏迎；芝龙还安平，王遂赴赣。八月二十一日启行，从延平趋汀州；王师尾之，破延平，知府王士和死之。士和，崇祯时举人，王擢之守延平；警报叠至，士和曰：我以儒生，不一月忝二千石，安敢偷生！遂投缳死。礼部尚书曹学佺、通政使马思理，自缢死。御营总兵胡上琛，护王至汀；王被执，上琛奔还福州拜辞祖庙，与妾刘同饮药死。给事中熊纬，扈行至汀，死于兵。其后闻王被难而死者，大仆寺少卿王瑞称自缢死，御史艾南英缢于僧舍。 |
