73  | 壬戌，司马光言：「取士之道，当以德行为先，文学为后；就文学之中，又当以经术为先，辞采为后。为今日计，莫若依先朝成法，合明经、进士为一科，立《周易》、《尚书》、《毛诗》、《周礼》、《仪礼》、《礼记》、《春秋》、《孝经》、《论语》为九经，令天下学官依注疏讲说，学者博观诸家，自择短长，各从所好。《春秋》止用《左氏传》，其公羊、谷梁、陆淳等说，并为诸家。《孟子》止为诸子，更不试大义，应举者听自占。习三经以上，多少随意，皆须习《孝经》、《论语》。」光以奏稿示范纯仁，纯仁答光曰：「《孟子》恐不可轻。且朝廷欲求众人之长，而元宰先之，似非明夷莅众之义。不若清心以俟众论，可者从之，不可者更俟诸贤议之，如此则逸而易成，有害亦可改矣。」光欣然纳之。 |
