106  | 辽诸王多坐事系狱，辽主以御史大夫萧护斯有才干，诏穷治，称旨。二月己丑朔，迁护斯为北院枢密使，赐对衣、鞍马，仍命世预宰相选。护斯辞曰：「臣子孙贤否未可知，得一客省使足矣。」从之，辽主嗜酒，用刑多滥，护斯居要地，齗齗自保，未尝一言匡救，议者以是少之。 |
