91  | 庚寅，吕惠卿罢。先是惠卿弟升卿考试国子监，而惠卿妻弟方通在高等，为御史蔡承禧所劾，惠卿乃谒告。帝遣冯宗道抚问，召赴中书，王安石又亲诣惠卿道帝意。惠卿于是上表求外者三，帝皆遣中使封还，又有答刂子，帝复令安石同王圭谕惠卿。惠卿入见，帝曰：「无事而数求去，何也？岂以安石议用人不合邪？」惠卿曰：「此亦不系臣去就。前此安石为陛下建立庶政，千里复来，乃一切托疾不事事，与昔日异，不知欲以遗之何人？」帝曰：「安石何以至此？」惠卿曰：「安石不安其位，盖亦缘臣在此。不若逐臣使去，一听安石，天下之治可成。」帝曰：「终不令卿去，且俱至中书。」惠卿顿首曰：「臣不敢奉诏。」既退，帝复遣中使谕惠卿，惠卿入见，及复就职。 |
