107  | 戊辰，以资政殿大学士兼翰林侍读学士吴育为宣徽南院使、判延州。育侍读禁中，帝因语及臣下毁誉，多出爱憎，育曰：「圣言要切，实四海之幸。然知而形之于言，不若察而行之于事。自古人君，因信谗邪而致乱，察奸险而致治，至于安危万端，不出爱憎二字，达之则群书不足观，不达虽博览无益也。盖人主事有不可不密者，有不可不明者。语及军国几微，或于权要，不可不密也。若指人姓名，阴言其罪而事状未见者，不可不明也。若不明，则谗邪得计，忠正难立，曲直莫辨，爱憎遂行。故曰偏听生奸，独任成乱。是故圣王之行，如天地日月，坦然明白，进一人，使天下皆知其善，黜一人，使天下皆晓其恶，则邪险不能陷害，公正可以立身，此百王之要道也。」帝数欲大用之，而谏官或诬奏育在河南尝贷民出息钱，久之，遂命出帅。 |
