20  | 甲寅，司马光》初读《资治通鉴》。案：《纪事本末》卷五十三《经筵》条下，又《编修通鉴》条下同。 上亲制《序》面赐光，赐名《资治通鉴》，令候书成日写入，又赐颍邸旧书二千四百二卷。《纪事本末》卷五十三。原注：赐旧书不在此时，今从帝学并书之。新纪书赐翰林学士司马光《资治通鉴序》，此固当时书也，冬十月初开经筵。案：《宋史·本纪》：己酉，初御迩英殿，诏侍臣讲读经史。《玉海》卷四十七：治平四年己酉十月，初御迩英。甲寅二十三日，初进读，赐名《资治通鉴》。神宗亲制《序》面赐光。序略曰：「此亦古人述作造端立意之所繇也。其所载明君、良臣，切磨治道，议论之精语，德刑之善制，天人相与之际，休咎庶徵之原，威福盛衰之本，规模利害之效，良将之方略，循吏之条教，断以邪正，要于治忽，辞令渊厚之体，箴谏深切之义，良谓备焉。凡十六代，博而得其要，简而周于事，是亦典刑之总会，册读之渊林矣。」《名臣言行录》引《日录》云：上自书《通鉴序》以授光，光受读再拜。读《三家为诸侯论》，上顾禹玉等称美久之。 |
