67  | 郑世威字中孚，长乐人。嘉靖己丑进士。时台臣缺，诏选进士充之，众争奔走，世威屹然不动。授户部主事，改刑部，历两广、江西佥事、浙江参议、江西副使、四川参政。再起通政司，擢迁都御史，刑部郎。所至有惠政，而节操甚励。在浙，罢临海盐税数千石，民德之。在江西时，夏言应召，诸藩臬皆旁趋而谒，世威独不肯，从掖门行。抚、按、司、道祝厘于上清宫，世威前视祝词，乃祈相公嗣者，遂不拜而出。及言再相，过武陵，诸大夫方郊迎，而世威弗往，言憾之。会言构祸获罪，严嵩柄国，世威适官江西，嵩姻党占寺田千亩，世威鬻以赈饥，嵩手书求解，不报，其家人往来用邮传者悉革，嵩衔之。迁四川参政，自投劾还。嵩败，始起，列九卿。会诏采珠及珍石，世威疏请崇节俭，不报，遂乞归。卒年八十有二，予祭葬，赐谥恭介。《分省人物考》参万历《府志》 |
