52  | 林廷选字舜举，长乐人，先姓樊。成化辛丑进士，授苏州推官，擢监察御史，按广西。平寇有功，迁浙江佥事，历副使，广东按察使，左右布政，入为大理卿。以右都御史镇两广。不数岁，迁南京工部尚书。表乞骸，赐玺书，驰传归，有司月给廪，岁给役，卒赐祭葬。廷选为人内明外宽，议论依于忠厚。始理苏州，断疑狱，即有能名。在浙最久，凡官舍所需，必遣人于他省市之。后观风使者密廉，有司多强市民间物，独林无有，使者表之，由是名益彰。南台交荐，洊陟大府。两广盗起，廷选专意招抚，不得已始用征讨。家居杜门自守，奉身甚约，时过其亲故，粗粝食之则食，人以此多焉。《福建通志》 |
