李仕鲁字宗孔，濮州人。少笃学，得朱子之传，太祖固知之。洪武中，诏求能为朱氏学者，有司举鲁入见，太祖喜曰：「吾求子久矣！」除黄州同知」。旋即召入为大理卿。时帝颇好释氏，其徒日益横，仕鲁力争，疏凡数十上，皆不纳，仕鲁故刚介，乃遽请曰：「陛下既深溺其教，臣言不入，愿还陛下笏，乞赐骸骨归田里」。遂置笏于地。帝大怒，命武士捽搏之，立死阶下。数嵗后，帝乃悔悟，诏赠其官一等。
