壬申，礼部尚书、端明殿学士、翰林侍读学士、左朝散郎苏轼知定州。按苏轼奏议，八月十九日以端明侍读礼书，论读汉、唐正史，则六月二十六日不应已除定。又实录于九月十三日再书除定州，恐六月二十六日所书或误。不然，六月二十六日初除，寻不行，故九月十三日再除，而实录不能详记所以也，当考。六月八日，轼乞越州，不允。七月二十四日，轼又以新知定州乞改知越州，诏不允。政目亦于二十六日书苏轼知定州。资政殿学士、知定州许将知扬州。政目六月二十六日。
