王爌，字存纳，黄岩人。弘治十五年进士。除太常博士。正德时，屡迁刑科都给事中。武定侯郭勋镇两广，行事乖谬。诏自陈，勋强辨，爌等驳之。都察院覆奏，不录爌言，爌并劾都御史彭泽。帝责泽，置勋不问。御史林有年直言下狱，浙江佥事韩邦奇忤中官被逮，爌皆救之。帝幸大同久不反，爌力请回鸾。又与工科石天柱救彭泽，忤王琼。中旨调两人于外，爌得惠州推官。世宗立，召复都给事中。旋擢太仆少卿，改太常。嘉靖三年迁应天府尹。岁大祲，奏免其赋。居四年，迁南京刑部右侍郎，以母老归养。家居十年，起故官。寻擢南京右都御史。守备中官进表，率以两御史监礼。爌曰：「中官安得役御史？」止之。举贺入朝，谒内阁夏言。言倨甚，大臣多隅坐，爌独引坐正之。言不悦，爌遂谢病归。
