62  | 鉴，辽东人。天顺中，袭定辽右卫指挥使。骁猛有胆决。遇贼辄奋，数有功，累官都督佥事，掌左府。弘治十一年佩镇朔将军印，镇宣府。以才与大同总兵官张俊易镇。兵部侍郎熊绣奏其经画功，进都督同知。 |

| 29 | 是时，朝政已移于中官，文升老，日怀去志。会两广缺总督，文升推兵部侍郎熊绣。绣怏怏不欲出，其乡人御史何天衢遂劾文升徇私欺罔。文升连疏求去，许之。赐玺书、乘传，月廪岁隶有加。家居，非事未尝入州城。语及时事，辄颦蹙不答。居三年，刘瑾乱政，坐文升前用雍泰为朋党，除其名。五年六月卒，年八十五。瑾诛，复官，赠特进光禄大夫、太傅，谥端肃。 |

| 66 | 熊绣，字汝明，道州人，其先以戍籍自丰城徙焉。绣举成化二年进士，授行人。奉使楚府，巡茶四川，力拒馈遗。擢御史，巡按陜西。左布政于璠以官帑银馈苑马卿邵进，绣发其罪。璠遁赴京讦绣，帝并下绣吏，谪知清丰，璠、进亦除名。久之，凤翔阙知府，擢绣任之。 |
