96  | 毛澄，字宪清，昆山人。𢎞治癸丑，廷对第一，授修撰。正徳中，歴迁礼部尚书，屡进谠言。世宗由兴邸即位，以澄迎立功加官，䕃坚辞不受。「大礼」议起，澄力持尊，无二统之议，帝不从。澄苦争不得，遂引疾归。卒，諡文简。澄歴事三朝，论事侃直，不少媕阿，有古大臣风节。同县张羽由进士官刑部郎，以议大礼忤㫖，廷杖，削籍。 |
