十月己亥，上燕藩臣于后苑。酒酣，从容谓之曰：『卿等皆国家宿旧，久临剧镇，王事鞅掌，非朕所以优贤之意也。』前风翔节度使兼中书令王彦超喻上旨，即前奏曰：『臣本无勋劳，久冒荣宠。今已衰朽，乞骸骨归丘园，臣之愿也。』前安远节度使武行德、郭从义、白重赞、杨廷璋等自陈攻战伐阅及履历艰苦。上曰：『此异代事，何足论也！』庚子，以行德为太子太傅，从义为左金吾卫上将军，彦超为右金吾卫上将军，重贇为左千牛卫上将军，廷璋为右千牛卫上将军。
