六月戊戌，诏：『两淮经寇，州郡已举，未该免人，与比京襄例，令赴来年省试一次。』辛丑，初置国用房。命近臣祷雨于天地、宗庙、社稷、宫观。壬子，录行在系囚。诏：『六月亢阳，日事祷祈，邈无报应。且闻飞蝗为孽，朕心惕然。自七月一日避正殿，减常膳，应中外臣僚，并许直言朝廷阙失。』
