十月壬寅，李知孝奏：『浙东仓司创馀姚断塘盐灶，扰生聚，没良田，乞行废罢。』从之。甲辰，朝献景灵宫。乙巳，亦如之。丁未，翰林学士、侍读郑清之讲毕，上曰：『近喜晴明，刈获迄事。』清之奏：『陛下敬天事亲，皆极其至。今天意昭格，东朝悦豫，应验若此。』上悦。时江西、湖南、福建寇盗并起，连破诸县。戊申，荧惑犯垒壁。己酉，太常议故资政殿大学士贺允中谥曰清简。留元英奏：『乞下吏部，应铨量官，令长贰从容延接，访门氏事。其疾病癃老者，证旨挥施行。如不堪任职，贪酷累被按劾者，与别注降等差遣，称量能授官之意。』从之。辛亥，郑清之同王暨进读，上曰：『朕观汉、唐以下，人主鲜克有终者，皆由不知道。』清之奏：『圣见高明，可谓推本之论。』王暨讲《尚书》，上问曰：『夏桀不道，成汤放之，可以鉴矣，纣何为复寻其覆辙?』王暨奏：『惟上智与下愚不移。殷鉴不远，在夏后之世。纣不能鉴，遂至灭亡，所谓下愚不移者也。』清之奏：『自古人主不能以乱亡为鉴，岂独暗君孱主?汉武帝饫闻亡秦黩武之弊而穷征不休，唐玄宗手锄太平逆韦之难而败于女宠，犹未足怪。太宗英明创业，亲见隋炀征辽亡国，乃纵兵鸭绿，汔无成功，有累盛德，是皆不能以覆辙为戒。正如圣语『由不知道』，所以不能以道制欲尔。』王暨奏：『以古为鉴，此言发于太宗而身自违之。』上曰：『非知之艰，行之惟艰。』壬子，赵至道奏：『乞行下诸路漕司，严饬和籴官吏，毋得多取增量，庶农民不惮与官为市。』从之。丁巳，荧惑、填星合于危。癸亥，太常议故参知政事章良能谥曰文庄。甲子，荧惑犯填星。
