闰十月丙午，诏：『廉州岁贡珠，虽祖宗旧制，闻取之颇艰，或伤人命。目今可罢贡，蛋丁纵其自便。』翌日，上谓宰执曰：『朕尝读《太祖实录》，见刘鋹进珠子马鞍。太祖知鋹所采珠子甚多，日役鋹丁数千人，死者不少。朕以谓珠子非急用之物，既是难得，且伤人命，故特令罢贡，以为一方无穷之利。』已酉，刘伯英特勒停，送连州编管。以右正言凌哲论其谄附秦桧，在江西、湖南赃淫僭侈也。辛亥，尚书省请以去年十月二十二日以后朝廷所行宽恤事件编类成册，镂板颁降。从之。壬子，徽猷阁直学士致仕胡寅卒于衡州。寅既退居，乃著《读史管见》三十卷，论周、秦至五代得失。其论甚正。盖以蔡京、秦桧之事数寄意焉。其书今行于世。甲子，尚书吏部郎中孙道夫试太常少卿。道夫入对，论蜀中税绢之外，有和买，有预俵，又有激赏，而蜀民尤以激赏绢为苦。税米之外，有远仓，有和籴，又有对籴，而蜀民尤以对籴米为患。以至硷泉退缩，盐额顿亏，酒徒零落，课息欠少，破产失业，比比皆是。有司务增茶额以求羡馀，禁系山氓使输虚息。欲革其弊，虽救焚拯溺，不足以喻其急也。』上感其言，诏制置使司相度闻奏，而道夫有是命。
