夏四月壬辰，国子司业黄中贺金主生辰还。时金主亮再修汴京，以图南牧。沈介为贺正旦使，先还不敢言。中归，为上言：『彼国治汴京，役夫万计，此必欲徙居以见迫，不可不早自为计。』时约和久，中外解弛，无战守备。上闻，矍然曰：『但恐为离宫也。』中曰：『臣见其所营悉备，此不止为离宫。若南徙居汴，则壮士健马，不数月可至淮上。惟陛下深图之。』宰相沈该、汤思退闻之，诘中曰：『沈少监之归属耳，不闻此言，公安得为此也?』居数日，复往白，请以妄言即罪。思退怒，至以语侵中。时中书舍人洪遵亦请密为边备，该等不听。己亥，镇江府火。辛丑，诏修临安府至镇江运河堰闸。壬寅，国子司业黄中守秘书少监。近例：使北还者，率得从官。宰相以中言敌有南牧意，恶之，故沈介迁吏部侍郎，而以中补其处。先是，武成王庙生芝草，武学博士朱熙载密为图以献。熙载，汤思退所荐也。于是宰相召长贰赴都堂，责之曰：『治世之瑞，抑而不奏，何耶?』祭酒周绾未及言，中指其图谓曰：『治世何用此为?』绾退而叹曰：『惜不使通老为谏诤官也。』辛亥，宰执进呈秘书省正字王端朝请选县令。先是，累诏监司、帅守举按县令功罪，虽间有发摘，而未闻特荐一二人者，盖务专行法而无旌赏，使人歆艳，恐非劝功之道。乃诏县令有政绩者，委诸司同荐，不次升擢，以风励之。
