五月庚午，命起居舍人辛仲甫使于契丹。契丹主问曰：『闻中朝有党进者真骁将，如进之比凡几人?』仲甫对曰：『名将甚多，如进鹰犬之材，何可胜数?』契丹主颇欲留之，仲甫曰：『信以成义。义不可留，有死而已。』契丹主知其秉节不可夺，厚礼遣还。上曰：『仲甫远使绝域，练达机宜，可谓不辱君命。若更得如仲甫数人，朕何患也!』己卯，祔太祖神主于太庙。庙乐曰大定之舞。以孝明皇后王氏配。
