九月庚午，以三边未能振戍，帅守、将士劳役日久，令学士院降诏抚谕。甲戌，宰执奏：『垂帘外朝之礼，请酌高宗典故而行。』从之。乙亥，皇太后、皇帝便殿垂帘，宰臣奏：『听政之始，宜褒表名儒，以兴起士大夫之心。』于是以集英殿修撰傅伯成为显谟阁学士，直宝谟阁杨简宝谟阁直学士，秘阁修撰柴中行复右文殿修撰，并奉祠。召显谟阁学士邹应龙、宝谟阁待制知潭州真德秀、焕章阁待制曹彦约赴行在。太后谕宰臣曰：『嗣君富于春秋，正进学之时。宜精选儒臣，早开讲席。』丙子，皇帝御便殿，宰臣等拜表请皇帝。己卯，皇太后、皇帝御便殿垂帘，宰臣率百官请皇帝御殿。至是三上表，诏只日权御后殿。以程珌及吏部侍郎朱著、中书舍人真德秀兼侍读，工部侍郎葛洪、起居郎乔行简、宗正少卿陈贵谊、军器监王暨兼侍讲。皇太后谕宰执曰：『垂帘非美事，断不欲当。』弥远奏曰：『皇帝嗣服之初，具有先帝遗训。愿陛下勉为宗社大计。』太后曰：『嗣君聪明，可付托。』弥远奏曰：『皇帝正欲观陛下仪刑。』太后曰：『幸而保全至此，不如更有始终。』壬午，以程珌为刑部尚书，葛洪权工部尚书，真德秀权礼部侍郎兼直学士院，乔行简权工部侍郎，魏了翁起居郎，陈贵谊起居舍人，朱端常谏议大夫，莫泽殿中侍御史，麋溧右正言，李知孝、华宰监察御史。丙戌，宰臣等奏请以大行皇帝陵名为永茂，诏依。丁亥，雷。庚寅，上并宿斋于内殿，礼部、太常奏：『上在谅阴，明堂大享前二日，朝献景灵宫；前一日，朝享太庙。并遣官摄事。』辛卯，皇帝越绋，大享于明堂，赦天下。
