5  | 三年春正月庚寅，诏缮工大监兼瀚海都护刘审礼为西域道安抚大使。壬子，以右相刘仁轨为辽东道副大总管。二月戊午，辽东道破薛贺水五万人，阵斩首五千馀级，获生口三万馀人，器械牛马不可胜计。丙寅，以明堂制度历代不同，汉、魏以还，弥更讹舛，遂增损古今，新制其图。下诏大赦，改元为总章元年。二月戊寅，幸九成宫。己卯，分长安、万年置乾封、明堂二县，分理于京城之中。癸未，皇太子弘释奠于国学。赠颜回太子少师，曾参太子少保。 |
| 6 | 夏四月丙辰，有彗星见于毕、昴之间。乙丑，上避正殿，减膳，诏内外群官各上封事，极言过失。于是群臣上言：「星虽孛而光芒小，此非国眚，不足上劳圣虑，请御正殿，复常馔。」帝曰：「朕获奉宗庙，抚临亿兆，谪见于天，诫朕之不德也，当责躬修德以禳之。」群臣复进曰：「星孛于东北，此高丽将灭之徵。」帝曰：「高丽百姓，即朕之百姓也。既为万国之主，岂可推过于小蕃！」竟不从所请。乙亥，彗星灭。辛巳，西台侍郎杨武卒。秋八月癸酉，至自九成宫。九月癸巳，司空、英国公绩破高丽，拔平壤城，擒其王高藏及其大臣男建等以归。境内尽降，其城一百七十，户六十九万七千，以其地为安东都护府，分置四十二州。 |
