47  | 十二月初一日，军需总局缺钱，城中质库七家，各捐千贯。张国梁与贼战于南湖，袭夺其营，获器械无算。夜五鼓，贼扒文昌门，提督双福守城上，督兵勇击退之。 |
| 48 | 初二日，提督向荣与张国梁攻贼于东郊，自晨至暮，胜负未分，各引军还。夜四鼓馀，贼掘文昌门地道，既达城下，墙足有大木桩排立极坚，贼以巨斧伐之，登登有声，巡抚常大淳率属官齐集城上，用夫四百人，挖内濠，引水注满。 |
