17  | 学士晋南京吏部尚书王㒜王㒜，字廷贵，常州武进人。景泰辛未进士及第，授编修。天顺癸未，转侍讲。侍皇太子于东宫，成化纪元，迁左庶子兼侍讲。寻升学士，掌南京翰林院事。守制服阕，起为南京国子祭酒。时教法久弛，㒜严立规程，精核勤惰，虽权贵不少贷。九载考绩，升南京吏部右侍郎。召入为户部左侍郎。寻陟南京户部尚书，改吏部，考核诸司官属，去取务合舆论。卒，赠太子太保，諡文肃。㒜风采凝峻，喜自夸诩，居家侈靡。子沂至右副都御史廖道南曰：「予观刘文安之赠文肃也，以为事君服勤，左右无方，亶其然矣。及予棹毗，陵过其里，造其庐，有陶朱、猗顿之风，岂其父子相继而然耶？不然，何其豪奢绮丽至此极也？赞曰：「于惟季札，封于延陵，高风邈悠，洗濯清泠。王氏之先，世有膴仕。曰谅曰忠不显，亦世嗣时。厥后八座两䑓渐不可长，亦已焉哉！ |
