6  | 秋七月甲戌，彗星见。诏许中外直言，台谏士庶多上书，以为公田不便，民间愁怨所致。于是贾似道上书力辩，乞避位。帝曰「言事易，任事难，自古然也。使公田之说不可行，则卿建议之始，朕已沮之矣。惟其公私兼济，所以举意行之。今业已成矣，一岁之军饷，仰给于此，若遽因人言罢之，虽可决一时之异议，如国计何。卿既任事，亦当任怨，礼义不愆，何恤人言」知临安府刘良贵亦以人言籍籍，自陈括田之劳，乞从罢免。不允。由是公论顿沮。九月，贾似道请行经界推排法于诸路。由是江南之地，尺寸皆有税，民力益困。 |
