沈守正撰。守正有《诗经说通》,已著录。是书汇萃诸家之说,分章条列,同异兼收。每案而不断,以待人之自考,亦或偶存己说一二。所采书凡二百二十六种,虽释道家言亦颇兼取。其中如解「子游问孝」章则用古说;解「士而怀居」章则用管志道说,以为即怀土;解「不动心」则用郝敬说,以为非比枯木槁灰;解「心之官则思」则用罗钦顺困知记》:皆颇有所见。然所引明人诸说,榛楛错陈,不免伤于芜杂。

罗钦顺撰。钦顺允升,号整菴,泰和人。弘治癸丑进士。官至南京吏部尚书。谥文庄。事迹具《明史儒林传》。是书皆其晚年所作。前记成于嘉靖戊子,凡一百五十六章。《续记》成于嘉靖辛卯,凡一百一十三章。《附录》一卷,皆与人论学之书,凡六首。钦顺自称初官京师,与一老僧论佛,漫举禅语为答。

罗钦顺撰。钦顺之学以穷理格物为宗,力攻王守仁良知之说。其大旨具见所作《困知记》中,已别著录。至词章之事,非其所好,谈艺家亦罕论及之。其弟钦蔼,作《仪训录》,尝称「钦顺于应酬文字辞谢居多,下笔稿成,未尝自是。

则《瑄传》列尚朴之名,殆衍文欤。谅以勿忘勿助为敬,胡居仁、罗钦顺多讥其近禅。而史载尚朴常言「才提起便是天理,才放下便是人欲」。魏校亟称之。王守仁少时亦学于谅。然守仁《赠尚朴诗》有「舍瑟春风」之句,尚朴则答曰「孔门沂水春风景,不出虞廷敬畏中」,至谓心所以穷理,未足以尽理。又谓学不难于一贯,而难于万殊。则与王守仁即心即理之说迥异。又《与湛若水书》「斤斤以厌常喜新」为戒。其语录中复取陈献章与论学诗一一为之笺疏,指其谬误。正、嘉之际,学问渐岐,而尚朴独恪守先儒,不为高论,可谓笃实之士矣。至其论《中庸》分八节,独不用朱子之说,则见仁见智,各有所得,其不为苟同,即其不为苟异者也。史载所著有《中庸说》、《东岩文集》。此本为其婿刘宾所编。
