1  | 明洪垣撰。垣字峻之，婺源人，觉山其号也。嘉靖壬辰进士，官至温州府知府。事迹具《明史》本传。又《湛若水传》末称，湛氏门人最著者，永丰李怀，德安何迁，婺源洪垣，德安唐枢。怀之言变化气质，迁之言知止，枢之言求真心，大约出入王、湛两家之间，而自为一义。垣则主于调停两家，而互救其失，皆不尽守师说云云。其讲学之书今未之见，是编其论史之书也。所论起上古迄宋末，如论伍员鞭墓之类，颇能主持名教。他如论管叔、蔡叔合于义而不知天命，诋纪信代死为吕禄辨冤之类，则不免文士好奇，务为新论。至于论余阙死节一条，斥阙不当仕元，且以全家并命为非，是则纰缪至极。无论阙本色目人，实非南宋遗民，垣于事实为不考，即使阙之祖父果为南宋遗民，而是时元混一天下，已届百年，践土食毛，久为黎庶。垣乃于数世之后使为宋守故臣之节，此于理不更悖乎。 |
