1  | 国朝大学士梁诗正、礼部尚书衔沈德潜等同撰。初，雍正中，浙江总督李卫修《西湖志》，延原任编修傅王露总其事，而德潜以诸生为分修。凡成书四十八卷。虽叙次详明，而徵引浩繁，颇嫌冗蔓。至乾隆十六年，恭逢圣驾南巡，清跸所临，湖山生色。德潜因取旧志，复与王露重加纂录，芟繁就简，别为十卷。而梁诗正亦奏请重辑《西湖志》。会德潜书稿先成，缮录进御。蒙皇上优加锡赉，特制诗篇，以弁其首。并敕诗正，即以德潜此稿合成之。诗正复偕王露参考厘订为十二卷，于乾隆十八年十二月奏进。首名胜各图，次西湖水利，次孤山、南山、北山、吴山、西溪诸胜迹，而终以艺文。虽门目减于旧志，而大纲已包括无馀。 |
| 2 | 时卫方奉诏纂修通志，以《西湖志》自田汝成后久未续辑，因以王露总其事，而以举人厉鹗等十人分任纂修之。悉仿通志之例，分门记载，列目二十。徵引极博，而体例颇涉泛滥，其后梁诗正等复订为《西湖志纂》，实据此本而删润之云。 |
