1  | 明蔡宗兖撰。宗兖字我斋，山阴人。正德丁丑进士，官兴化府教授。是书以《本性》、《稽数》、《候气》三篇为上卷，以《文声》、《协律》、《制器》、《正度量权》四篇为下卷。其《稽数》所据《史记》生锺分演为图说，皆人所同有。其以古人半律当元定蔡氏变律，不如仍古人之名为是。其谓变律之不必增设，亦似有所见，而未尽其奥。《文声》一篇，不用二变，古亦有此论。验之于今，南曲如此，北曲则必有二变矣，皆其宫调之乙、凡二字也。至谓五声则有二变，如楼之梯、堂之阶，则殊未协。又以叠字散声之说而当二变，则益不合矣。《制器篇》皆古人乐书中所有，而漏略未全。《正度量权篇》亦《律吕新书》之旧文。 |
| 2 | 其候气之说，尤拘泥而不验者也。《协律篇》牵引四声，究古人歌法。不知近起水磨腔，乃斤斤于此。前人以平、上、去、入配宫、商、角、徵、羽，分为舌居中、口开张等说，实于五声无与，不可混并为一。宗兖虽小变其意，然以公、隆、麻、禾等韵配十二律，则亦尚沿其误耳。 |
