25  | 四年八月癸巳，神武将西伐，自邺会兵于晋阳。殿中将军曹魏祖曰：「不可。 |
| 26 | 今八月西方王，以死气逆生气，为客不利，主人则可。兵果行，伤大将军。」神武不从。自东、西魏构兵，邺下每先有黄黑蚁阵斗，占者以为黄者东魏戎衣色，黑者西魏戎衣色，人间以此候胜负。是时黄蚁尽死。九月，神武围玉壁以挑西师，不敢应。西魏晋州刺史韦孝宽守玉壁，城中出铁面，神武使元盗射之，每中其目。用李业兴孤虚术，萃其北。北，天险也。乃起土山，凿十道，又于东面凿二十一道以攻之。城中无水，汲于汾。神武使移汾，一夜而毕。孝宽夺据土山，顿军五旬，城不拔，死者七万人，聚为一冢。有星坠于神武营，众驴并鸣，士皆讋惧。神武有疾。 |
