6  | 甲子，有白衣野老，自云霍太山遣来，诣帝请谒。帝弘达至理，不语神怪，逮乎佛道，亦以致疑，未之深信。门人不敢以闻，此老乃伺帝行营，路左拜见。帝戏谓之曰：「神本不测，卿何得见卿非神类，岂其神言「野老对曰：「某事山祠，山中闻语：『遣语大唐皇帝云：若往霍邑，宜东南傍山取路，八月初雨止，我当为帝破之，可为吾立祠庙也。』帝试遣案行，傍山向霍邑，道路虽峻，兵枉行而城中不见。若取大路，去县十里，城上人即遥见兵来。」帝曰：「行逢滞雨，人多疲湿，甲仗非精，何可令人远见且欲用权谲，难为之巧，山神示吾此路，可谓指踪。雨霁有征，吾従神也。然此神不欺赵襄子，亦应无负于孤。」顾左右笑以为乐。丙寅，突厥始毕使达官、级失、特勤等先报，已遣兵马上道，计日当至。帝曰：地名贾胡，知胡将至。天其假吾此胡，以成王业也。」 |
