4  | 永明十一年春正月，以骠骑大将军王敬则为司空，骠，匹妙翻。骑，奇寄翻。鎭军大将军陈显达为江州刺史。显达自以门寒位重，陈显达，南彭城人，起于卒伍。每迁官，常有愧惧之色，戒其子勿以富贵陵人；而诸子多事豪侈，显达闻之，不悦。以陈显达之居宠思畏，终不能自免于猜暴之朝，至于称兵而死，岂非系于所遇之时哉！子休尚为郢府主簿，过九江。自建康至郢府，先过九江。显达曰：「麈尾蝇拂麈，肿庾翻。麈，麋属；尾能生风，辟蝇蜹。陆佃《埤雅》曰：麈似鹿而大，其尾辟尘，以置旧帛中，能令岁久红色不黦；又以拂毡，令毡不蠹。《名苑》曰：麈，羣鹿随之，皆视尘所往，麈尾所转为准。于文，主鹿为麈；古之谈者挥焉，良为是也。是王、谢家物，汝不须捉此！」言不须以风流自标置也。捉，执也。卽取于前烧之。 |
