42  | 时议者欲分兵屯守诸津，帝曰：「贼众我寡，分其兵则人测虚实，一处失利，则沮三军之心，若聚众石头，则众力不分。」戊午，帝移镇石城。乙丑，贼大至，帝曰：「贼若新亭直上，且将避之；若回泊蔡洲，成禽耳。」徐道覆欲自新亭焚舟而战，循多疑少决，每求万全，乃泊蔡洲以待军溃。帝登石头以望，见之，悦。庚辰，贼设伏于南岸，疑兵向白石。帝率刘毅、诸葛长人北拒焉，留参军徐赤特戍查浦，戒令勿战。帝既北，贼焚查浦而至张侯桥，赤特与战，大败，贼进屯丹阳郡。帝驰还石头，斩徐赤特。解甲久之，乃出阵于南塘。七月庚申，循自蔡洲退，将还归寻阳，帝遣辅国将军王仲德等追之。使建威将军孙处自海道袭番禺，戒之曰：「我十二月必破祅寇，卿亦足至番禺，先倾其巢窟也。」 |
