光大元年春正月癸酉，尚书左仆射袁枢卒。乙亥，大赦，改元，赐孝悌力田爵一级。辛卯，祀南郊。二月辛亥，南豫州刺史余孝顷谋反，伏诛。三月甲午，以尚书右仆射沈钦为侍中、尚书仆射。夏五月乙未，湘州刺史华皎不从执政。丙申，以中抚军大将军淳于量为征南大将军，总舟师讨之。六月壬寅，以中军大将军、司空徐度为车骑将军，总督都下衆军，自歩道袭湘州。秋七月戊申，立皇子至泽为皇太子，赐天下为父后者爵一级，王公以下赉帛各有差。九月丙辰，百济国遣使朝贡。是月，周将拓拔定入郢州，与华皎水陆俱进，都督淳于量、吴明彻等大破之，皎单舸奔江陵，禽定送建邺。冬十月辛巳，曲赦湘、巴二州，为皎所诖误者。十一月甲子，中权将军、开府仪同三司王冲薨。十二月庚寅，以仪同三司兼从事中郎孔英哲为奉圣亭侯，奉孔子祀。
