51  | 八年春正月丙辰，行幸邺，存问风俗。司空奚斤既平兖豫，还围虎牢，宋守将毛徳祖距守不下。蠕蠕犯塞。二月戊辰，筑长城于长川之南，起自赤城，西至五原，延袤二千馀里，备置戍卫。三月乙邜，济自灵昌。夏四月丁邜，幸成臯，观虎牢，而城内乏水，县绠汲河。帝令连舰上施轒輼，絶其汲路，又穿地道，以夺其井。丁丑，幸洛阳观石经。闰月丁未，还幸河内，北登太行幸髙都。己未，虎牢溃，士衆大疫，死者十二三。辛酉，幸晋阳，班赐王公以下至于厮役。五月丙寅，还次雁门，皇太子率留台王公迎于句注之北。庚寅，车驾至自南廵。六月己亥，太尉、宜都公穆观薨。丙辰，北廵至参合陂。秋七月，幸三㑹屋侯泉，诏皇太子率百官以从。八月，幸马邑，观于灅源。九月乙亥，车驾还宫。冬十月癸邜，广西宫，起外墙周囬二十里，是嵗饥，诏所在开仓振给。十一月己巳，帝崩于西宫，时年三十二。遗诏以司空奚斤所获军实赐大臣，自司徒长孙嵩以下至于士卒各有差。十二月庚子，上諡曰明元皇帝，葬于云中金陵，庙称太宗。帝兼资文武，礼爱儒生，好览史𫝊，以刘向所撰新序、说苑》于经典正义多有所阙，乃撰新集》三十篇，采诸经史该洽古义，云明元帝永兴五年，神瑞二年，泰恒八年，即位十五年。 |
