139  | 秋八月，张璁、桂蕚罢。九月，召璁还，杨一清罢。璁、蕚与杨一清积不相能，给事中孙应奎疏论一清及璁、蕚优劣，乞鉴三臣贤否，以定去留。其同官王准陆粲复相继劾：「璁、蕚引用私人，日图报复，威权既盛，党与复多，不亟去之，将为社稷患」。帝感悟，立罢璁、蕚、霍韬攘臂言曰：「张、桂行势且及我」。乃疏诋一清，力为璁、蕚辨雪，谓陆粲之劾，实一清嗾之。臣与璁、蕚俱以议礼进，璁、蕚去臣，不得独留」。帝即召璁，还贬准典史。粲驿丞霍韬再疏诋一清，帝令法司㑹廷臣杂议，刑部尚书许赞请削一清籍。璁故三上密疏，引一清赞礼功，乞寛假实，以坚帝意，俾速去。帝果令一清致仕。 |
