142  | 棣以僧道衍为谋主，䕶衞张玉朱能为爪牙，选将校勾军卒，部署已定，问道衍，师期对曰：「未也」。棣始称病，既称病笃，㑹燕山衞百戸倪谅告变，帝下诏让棣，遣中官逮王府僚属。北平都指挥使谢贵、布政使张昺以军士列九门防守，都指挥张信叛附于棣，以情输之，棣乃用道衍计，令张玉、朱能潜纳勇士八百人入府守衞。及朝使至，棣伪缚官校置庭中，绐贵、昺入，执杀之。张玉等率勇士夺九门，燕府长史葛诚、䕶衞指挥卢振初皆与贵、昺谋诛棣，至是并遇害，夷其族伴读余逢辰泣谏杀之。参政郭资、副使墨麟、佥事吕震并降棣。棣乃上书于朝，指齐泰、黄子澄为奸臣，请入清君侧，遂自署官属，称其兵曰「靖难。寻陷蓟州，夺居庸关，破怀来。都督宋忠战败，死之。于是通州、遵化、永平、密云诸守将皆以城叛，衆至数万。 |
