48  | 崇祯二年，起顺天府府尹。先生以首善之地，欲躬行教化，以为天下有司倡殚心职业，屡请薄赋敛以厚民生，省刑罚以重民命。又以京兆职掌久废，请饬定制行久任之法，严考察之典以宣治化。于是兴学校，申功令，讲乡约，严保甲，颁文公家礼，俾乡鄙服习先生，风裁孤峻。其遇豪贵，不少假借。武清伯奴子，与诸生争道，诸生受殴投牒，使吏入武清家捕之。武清及门言状，先生拒不见。捕益急，始出捶扑数十，荷校武清门外，厉禁倡优。一日，道遇优什，具麾隷收之，曰：「此司礼太监乐器先生曰：干禁者，即公侯不汝贷，况宫奴乎？焚之单丁下户，则周恤情隐，虽兵革匡勷，皆有恃而不恐，辇毂称肃。 |
