兵部侍郎范鏓等劾铣罔上贪功，擅开边衅，逮下狱，出兵部尚书王以旗代之。先是，咸寜侯仇鸾镇甘肃，以贪纵为铣所劾，遂逯问严嵩雅亲鸾。至是，代鸾狱中草奏，诬夏言纳铣。金苏纲者，言继妻父也，与铣同邑相善。方铣建议复套时，纲亟称之，言益信铣为可办，固力主其议，故嵩代鸾诬奏铣克饷钜万，属纲赂，言交闗为奸利。决司承帝㫖，坐铣交结近待律，斩西市妻子流二千里，并逯言下吏，出鸾于狱。铣有瞻畧，长于用兵，性特廉，既没，家无馀赀。隆庆初，赠尚书，諡曰襄愍。质实，范鏓，字平甫，江西乐平人，迁□阳仇鸾钺之子。
