珝先以旧宫僚晋官直经筵，日讲反覆，开导词气。祝侃、刘定之称为讲官第一，帝亦爱重之，入阁后尝呼东刘先生。珝性疎直，吉则多智，与万安比。质实，刘珝，字叔温，夀光人。刘吉字佑之，博野人。时内阁三人，安贪狡，吉隂刻珝稍优，顾喜谈论，人目之为狂躁，皆充位无所匡正，谚谓之「纸棚、三阁老」云。乾清宫门灾。
