时帝好神仙，给事中顾存仁、髙金、王纳言，皆以直谏得罪，㑹方士段朝用，以所炼白金器百馀，因部勋以进，云以盛饮食物供斋醮，即神仙可致也，帝立，召与语，大悦，朝用言帝深居无与外人接，则黄金可成，不死药可得。帝益悦，谕廷臣：「今太子监国，朕少暇一二年，亲政如初，举朝愕不敢言，最抗疏谏曰：陛下春秋方北，乃圣谕及此，不过欲服食求神仙耳！大神仙乃山栖溧铢者所为，岂有髙居黄屋紫闼、衮衣玉食，而能白日翀举者？臣虽至愚，不敢奉诏」。帝大怒，立下诏狱，杖杀之，监国议亦罢。明年，朝用伏诛，隆庆中，赠最副都御史，諡忠节质实杨㝡，字殿之，射洪人。顾存仁，字伯纳，太仓人。髙金，石州人，王纳言，信阳人。九月，刘天和败济农于黒水苑，斩其子锡沙王济农连年入冦，边将御之，屡被杀伤。是年七月，冦万全右卫縂兵官白爵逆战，再败之，至是复入固原剽掠，且压㑹淫潦，弓矢尽胶无闘志，而诸捋多畏缩，天和斩指挥二人，召故縂兵官周尚文激今立功，㑹陜西縂兵官魏时督兵分道邀之，至黒水苑，尚文尽鋭奋击之，自己至申，凡三胜负战未决，济农子锡沙王骁果而轻，率其劲卒三十馀人驰冲营中，坚尚文击斩之，冦遁走寜夏，巡抚杨守礼縂兵，任杰等复邀击于鉄柱泉，败之，进天和南京户部尚书，以守礼縂督军务，尚文复都督同知质实，万全右卫，洪武二十六年置，与左卫同城，属山西行都司。固原州，本固原守御千户所，𢎞治十五年置州，属平凉府。黒水苑在固原州西。鉄柱泉在灵州花马池西南，有泉百歩。明嘉靖十五年，刘天和改筑旧堡，设兵戍守。周尚文，字顔章，西安后卫人。杨守礼，字秉节，蒲州人。冬十月，顾鼎臣卒。
