87  | 汤来贺，字佐平，南丰人。明崇祯进士，授扬州推官。太监王坤督盐饷道，府行，属礼来贺，不为屈，杜门求罢，淮抚史可法器重之。考选刑科，改礼部主事。㝷升广东海道，清理各属狱囚，减役㣲服，径抵州县圜扉，审系无辜者，给照即释香山。有老囚罗姓来贺阅案，知为海贼罗亚福父叹曰：「罪人不孥，况父乎？」县令力争，谓释则累官来贺，曰：「而忍恋一官而戕一命乎？」竟释之。未几，亚福感释父恩，愿领衆投诚来贺，用为巡海向导，卒收其力。在粤晋总制，加兵部尚书，不就。归，为遗民四十馀年，当事聘入庐山，主鹿洞敎。年八十二卒，学者称惕菴先生。弟来贲，读书砥行，以孝友称。来贺有「蚤我十年生，愿待为师傅」之语。晚膺贡选，敎职不就，号拙逸老人来贺。著有内省斋文集、鹿洞迩言、居恒语录及广陵东粤政事诸书。 |
