87  | 詹尔选，字思吉，乐安人。崇祯进士，擢御史。阁臣钱士升以票拟忤㫖，引咎回籍，尔选具疏申救，且言悖祖训十二事。上大怒，召府部、科道同入武英殿面诘，上声色甚厉。尔选从容对曰：「臣所言祖训尚不止此」。因述列朝圣政四十馀条。上屡改容起立左右阁，臣皆战栗。尔选侃侃不少逊挠。上怒甚，指疏中「权宜茍且」四字罪，以指斥无奏对。体命官校拿下尔，选大声曰：「臣死不足惜。皇上幸听臣言，事尚可为。即不听臣，亦可留为他日之思」。阁臣以下极力申救，得免死罢归。甲申，以原官起用，不赴。 |
