113  | 王雅，字格非，吉水人，德化训导。永乐间为㑹，试房考得、曾棨等，皆知名之士。升司经局正字，寻迁翰林检讨。预修《两朝实録》，性乐恬退，未尝一及贵势之门。曾棨，字子启吉，永丰人。永乐二年殿试第一，授翰林修撰。寻诏解缙选进士二十八人，进学文渊阁，棨为首。司礼监，月给笔墨纸，光禄给朝暮馔，礼部月给膏烛钞，工部择近第宅居之。帝尝亲试天马海靑歌，棨援笔立就。又尝摘记载诸隐僻事问，棨条对无遗悞，由是见褒宠。有荐文士者，帝必问才学如棨否，或命就棨辨论，以观其能。修《永乐大典》为副緫裁。进侍读学士。修《天下郡邑志》，复为副緫裁。仁宗立，除左春坊大学士。宣宗立，进少詹事，预修《三朝实録》，再扈北巡，《三典》㑹试为文如源泉，一泻千里，馆阁中自解。胡后诸大制作，多出其手。宣德七年，卒于官，年六十一。赠礼部左侍郎，諡襄敏。 |
